Survey highlights problem We now have some data on the extent to which local authorities in England and Wales insist on the use of the standard subcontracts that accompany the standard main contract that they have adopted. In Wales 31% of local authorities insist on the use of the relevant standard subcontract. Many councils not mandating the relevant subcontract felt they should be doing so, but the reasons for holding back were not clear.A survey of local authorities carried out by the Specialist Engineering Contractors’ Group earlier in the year yielded some interesting responses. Some felt they had no right to insist on the use of the standard subcontract, while some said it was primarily a decision for the tier 1 contractor.Recent studies have proven that Gardasil has had no serious side effects, and the vaccine appears to provide protection for only 5 years (Vamos, Mc Dermott, and Daley 305).
Section 2 mandated that the students were to read the novels as they were written in Spanish, although a provision ordered that the Board of National Education create rules on how these should be applied.
Occasionally in these editorials I have expressed surprise that there is a general lack of insistence by clients on the use of NEC subcontracts.
I do not understand how the collaborative and pro-active management mechanisms in NEC can operate effectively unless they also apply to a supply chain that delivers – in value terms – over 80% of the works.
The full name of the law is An Act to Include in the Curricula of All Public and Private Schools, Colleges and Universities Courses On the Life, Works and Writings of Jose Rizal, Particularly His Novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, Authorizing the Printing and Distribution Thereof, and for Other Purposes. During the 1955 Senate election, the church charged Recto with being a communist and an anti-Catholic.
The measure was strongly opposed by the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines due to the anti-clerical themes in Noli Me Tángere and El Filibusterismo. After Recto's election, the Church continued to oppose the bill mandating the reading of Rizal's novels Noli Me Tángere and El Filibusterismo, claiming it would violate freedom of conscience and religion. The last two sections were focused on making Rizal's works accessible to the general public: the second section mandated the schools to have "an adequate number" of copies in their libraries, while the third ordered the board to publish the works in major Philippine languages.
